At the House:

Check In/Check Out:

Check In begins at 4pm and check-out is at 11am.  Through the use of smart locks, virtual check-in is the default option so guests can arrive any time after 4pm at their convenience.

Early check-in and late check out (subject to avaialability) can be added at booking for a fee.

Thermostat:

Each guest room is equipped with its own thermostat.  To adjust the heat or A/C simply tap the red(heat) or blue(cool) number to the right of the screen.  Once heat or cool is selected, you can use the up and down arrows to select your desired temperature.

Trains:

Fayetteville’s downtown train station is quite active. If you find the sound of trains at night soothing or you’re into this sort of thing, fantastic! Check out the Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum. If you’re not a fan of the trains at night (you may not hear one, or you may hear many, depending on their schedule) we supply noise machines in each room and earplugs at the coffee bar for your convenience.

Hot Water:

In some areas of the house, hot water may take several minutes to reach your room after you turn on the tap. Don’t be alarmed, the water is hot and it will reach you…eventually! As much as we’d love to save water, this is one of those old house quirks we’ve grown accustomed to.

Refrigerator/Kitchen Use:

There is a mini fridge available in each hallway and a microwave and ice maker on the main floor breakfast bar.

The mini fridge on the main floor is where we place continental breakfast ingredients, so if you need additional room you may utilize the refrigerator in the kitchen by request. There is a small dining table in the study (the front right living room) and tables on the back patio that are available to guests as a place to enjoy take-out, just please be mindful to leave them as you found them. To maintain proper sanitization of the kitchen, kitchen access is not permitted.

Television:

We’ve made the conscious choice not to have TV’s in the room to foster an environment of relaxation for all guests.  The total time an average American spends in front of a screen is approximately 50 days per year, so we invite you take a moment to disconnect from technology and reconnect with your self or your loved ones.

Understanding that TV may be part of your relaxation routine, we do have a Smart TV (where you can connect to Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, etc.) available for guest use in the study, along with a selection of books and local information to enjoy at the Inn.

Housekeeping:

Housekeeping is available every 3rd day during each stay - fresh towels are available upon request. If you need anything please call or text & ask us. We are here to make your stay enjoyable.

Accessibility:

We are sorry to say that the MacPherson House is a historic building and is therefore not suitable for wheelchair users.  The Campbellton Room is the only guest room on the first floor (4 steps on front porch from check-in point, additional stairs from parking lot) and its clawfoot tub/shower may not be suitable for all guests.  The cottage has a standard tub/shower and there are 6 steps up to the cottage from the parking lot.

Children:

We welcome children and can provide a complimentary travel crib by request. We do ask that you provide all your own crib bedding. The MacPherson House is, however, in no manner child-proof for toddlers or children. For guests bringing a child, the child is to remain under the guest's full and complete control and supervision at all times. The guest accepts full and complete responsibility for their child's behavior and will not hold the MacPherson House liable in any way and will indemnify and hold the MacPherson House harmless. The guest is liable for damages caused by themselves or their children.

Pet Policy:

We welcome good dogs in the Cottage on Hay located just behind the MacPherson House.  All other rooms are pet-free and equipped with hypoallergenic pillow and mattress encasements for our allergy-sensitive guests.  Please read our full pet policy here.

Military Discount:

Owned by an active duty military family, we appreciate your support of our community and honor your service by offering a 10% discount to active duty military and their immediate family members using the discount code "military" at booking. We may request that you present a valid active duty military ID at the B&B.

Care and Keeping of the MacPherson House:

No Smoking:

The MacPherson House is a NO SMOKING establishment. No smoking is allowed in the building or within 50 feet of windows or exterior doors. Evidence of smoking in or near the Bed and Breakfast will result in a $250 cleaning fee.

Damages:

Any damages, stolen items, or broken items occurring during the stay will be the guest's full financial responsibility, including anyone traveling with the guest. Any special clean-up resulting in damages caused by the guests will be charged to the credit card. Charges may need to be applied after guest departure as deemed necessary by the Owner/Innkeeper. Robe replacement cost is $75, and towel replacement cost is $25.

Please report all spills and/or damages to the Innkeeper promptly.

The MacPherson House reserves the right to terminate the balance of any guest's stay without refund for any behavior that is in violation of the above Conditions, or that disrupts the operation of the MacPherson House. Guests asked to leave will be charged for the entire reservation. Other fees may be assessed related to missing or damaged property, cleaning fees, loss of room use fees as appropriate and determined by the MacPherson House.

The MacPherson House is privately owned and operated. Management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. We will not be responsible for guest accidents or injury or for the loss of money, jewelry, or valuables of any kind.

Alcoholic Beverages:

The MacPherson House does not hold a license to resell alcoholic beverages. Guests may bring their own, but for the safety and comfort of all of our guests, please drink responsibly. For guests abusing this privilege, as determined by the MacPherson House, will be asked to leave immediately and without refund. For special events, hard liquor is not permitted. Wine, Beer, and Champagne only are permitted. The MacPherson House and/or employees will not be held responsible for any incidents.

Changing Plans

Deposits:

A 100% deposit is required at the time of reservation. For groups, a 50% deposit of total stay (2+ days) is required, or 100% of one night, whichever is greater. Please see group cancellations below for further details.

Cancellations:

Cancellation requests made 7 days or more prior to check-in will be fully refunded, less a $45 cancellation processing fee. Any requests made within 7 days of check-in are non-refundable. This means that no refunds will be issued for any part of the reservation. There are no refunds for early departures.

Due to our size and the personal attention we offer our guests, cancellations are best to be avoided. Your deposit is your commitment to us that you are reserving your room and our commitment to you that your room will be ready for your arrival. Please take the time to read and process our cancellation policy. Because we will strictly adhere to our policy, we strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance for the unexpected life event. A request to change the date/move a reservation is considered a cancellation request because we are potentially losing the ability to re-book that room and all policies will apply.

Group Cancellations:
A group reservation is when parties who are travelling together book three or more rooms at the same time, for the same period of time. Upon booking your stay, a deposit is required of 50% of your stay (2+days) or 100% of 1 night reservations.

Group cancellations must be made at least 30 days in advance of the scheduled check-in date to receive a refund of the deposit, less a $45 cancellation processing fee.

Thirty (30) days prior to your arrival, we will bill the balance of your reservation/stay. Group cancellations made less than 30 days but more than 14 days prior to the scheduled check-in date will incur a 50% charge of the total stay. Group cancellations made within 14 days of the scheduled check-in date are nonrefundable, resulting in the forfeiture of the entire deposit.

These policies are in place for the comfort and safety of all guests and staff and we sincerely appreciate your adherence and consideration for this historic property and one another.

Details & Policies

The MacPherson House was built in 1920 and underwent a full renovation 100 years later in 2020.  Owners Katy & Michael Stevick opened the MacPherson House B&B to the public in October, 2020 and love welcoming travelers and visitors from near and far to this historic property.  They've made every effort to bring the historic property into the modern era, but found some "old house quirks" guests may want to be advised of during their stay, listed below along with reservation and cancellation policies.
