The Saint Avold Suite
The Saint Avold Suite is truly something special. Featuring a grand four poster bed, the King Room opens to a sunroom overlooking Hay Street that perches atop the front porch. The sunroom provides additional space to enjoy a sitting area and can accommodate additional guests with a twin trundle bed. The whitewashed decorative fireplace trimmed in blue echoes the deep blue hues of the tiled shower.
The Saint Avold
History:
This lovely Suite is named for Fayetteville's sister city, Saint Avold, France. You can learn more about our cities' special connection in Up & Coming Weekly and discover more about Private Shaw's story, the WWII cemetery in France and the Lafayette Society in books and reading material we've placed in the room. As a military family ourselves who discovered this connection when we saw a "Fayetteville" sign IN Saint Avold, France we felt like this was a special and meaningful story to share and it inspired the French decor of the grand Saint Avold Suite. The smaller paintings adorning the wall behind the bed and in the sunroom are original oil paintings we found for the Inn in Paris, and the antique upholstered chairs in the sunroom perfectly complement the original stained glass pane in the pass-through between the two rooms.
Room Information:
The Saint Avold Suite is known for its grand, luxurious four poster King bed, stained glass window and adjoining sunroom with an additional twin size trundle bed and sitting area, making it a favorite for choice for families or a romantic retreat.
The suite features a stunning blue tiled shower and granite in-room vanity. An open pass through with a stained glass panel in the middle connects the bedroom to a sun room, known in its day (the 1920's) as a "sleeping porch."
The sleeping porch is a bright room surrounded on three sides by windows with a twin sized trundle bed and sitting area perfect for enjoying a sunset. The additional twin trundle bed rolls out and can pop up to effectively make a second King size bed. This is a perfect space for a family with children (or to simply enjoy the extra room and sitting area) but for 4 adults we recommend booking 2 rooms. While the stained glass pass through is open to the bedroom, the sunroom is not directly connected to our central heat/air system so it's also cooled by a fan and heated by a space heater. Due to the original (non-insulated) windows on three sides, outside noise can be heard easily. We've placed a sound machine in the suite for your comfort and convenience.
Breakfast is included.
We offer a seated breakfast at 8:30 AM in the dining room or the option of a continental to-go breakfast available at your convenience with fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs and baked goods we make with seasonal ingredients.
Coffee and hot tea are plentifully available 24/7 at coffee bars throughout the house.
